Hazard scores his century goal for Chelsea as they defeat Watford

Eden Hazard's opener against Watford was his 100th goal for Chelsea in all competitions and it is another moment where the £32 million signing from Lille has written his name into the Stamford Bridge club's history.
Latching on a Mateo Kovacic pass, Hazard's century for Chelsea was a trademark effort as he rounded Ben Foster and struck home into the empty net. The goal allowed a celebration of a six-and-a-half year love story between the Belgian and his fanbase in west London.
Roberto Pereyra equalised with a wonderful first-time volley straight from a corner at Vicarage Road, but Hazard came out on top by winning and then scoring a penalty to reach 101 goals. He has gone from one of the world's most entertaining players to one of the world's most decisive players.

His strike rate is massively up this season with 12 goals already this season. The numbers leave it very likely that we will see Hazard break the 20-goal mark for the first time in a single season as a Chelsea player.
The 27-year-old has been key in every major triumph at the club since joining in 2012. Hazard has two Premier League titles, two league cups, one FA Cup and one Europa League title to his name.
Some may think that Hazard reaching 100 goals has taken some time compared to other stars, but only four players have outscored him in the league since he joined in 2012.
Normally a Hazard goal is a beautiful one; a solo dribble, close control or an ice-cold penalty finish after winning it himself just seconds earlier. Among the 100 goals have come moments etched into Chelsea's history.
The spot provided for Hazard's recent big moment in a Chelsea shirt, stepping up at Wembley Stadium against Manchester United to win his side the cup and put gloss on a disappointing 2017-18 season for his side.

The wondergoals are numerous. The most recent, and arguably best, was the solo strike in the League Cup this season against Liverpool. It began close to the halfway line and featured two nutmegs and a one-two.
It is a similar story in Chelsea's most recent title win as Hazard stepped up in the latter part of the 2016-17 season as Diego Costa fell out of form. Francis Coquelin strained every muscle in his body to bring down Hazard, but with his balance he easily shrugged him off before toying with Laurent Koschielny and Per Mertesacker and then striking home past Petr Cech.
In his other title winning season of 2014-15, he won the PFA Player of the Year award for a brilliant contribution of 19 goals in Jose Mourinho's double-winning campaign.
Remarkably, many remember Hazard's most important goal as being not one that won Chelsea a title, but the one that stopped a rival in doing so. Hazard turns and drives forward, before finding Costa, who lays it back off to see the Belgian go into folklore from a swerving far-post effort. The goal killed off Tottenham's best chance to win the title in over 50 years, crowning Leicester champions.
There is no question either of Hazard failing to produce when it most matters, with an incredible 25 per cent of his goals coming against the other five teams in English football's 'big six'.
Eden Hazard has proved his greatness in almost every competition, but some might say he has yet to prove it in the latter stages of the Champions League. Real Madrid may be hoping he does it for them in the future, but Chelsea remain on course to qualify for next year's competition.
The Belgian may be subject to transfer interest, but he has already proved his great loyalty to Chelsea fans. Hazard is the first player since Didier Drogba to hit 100 for the club, and only the third in the last 30 years.

Man United defeats Newcastle to earn their fourth win in a row

The Norwegian threw on his two big-name replacements and was given immediate rewards as United beat Newcastle on Wednesday with two late goals. Whether it’s playing the opposition off the park or delivering the key decisions at the vital moment, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cannot seem to do any wrong right now. This wasn’t a vibrant attacking performance full of goals and showreel highlights like the trio which had preceded it, but Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Wednesday night gave further proof that Solskjaer has injected something new into his side’s make-up. In throwing on players as talented as Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez for the final half-hour, the United caretaker manager must have known there was half a chance his substitutes would deliver. But the former Everton man’s immediate opener, and then the involvement of both replacements in Marcus Rashford’s clinching second, would have delighted the man who made his name as a super-sub ...

The announcement was made by the club in a short statement that thanked the former Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid manager for his work and confirmed that a caretaker manager would be put in charge until the end of the 2018/19 season. The 65-word statement read, "Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, f...

Real Madrid wins club world cup

Real Madrid players celebrating their victory Santiago Solari celebrated his first trophy as Real Madrid's coach with a 4-1 defeat of Al Ain in the Club World Cup final. Luka Modric's wonderful goal helped seal Club World Cup history as Real Madrid beat Al Ain 4-1 to become the first team to win the tournament three years in a row. Santiago Solari's first silverware since being appointed as Julen Lopetegui's successor was set up by Modric's first-half strike as Madrid comfortably triumphed in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, moving past rivals Barcelona with their fourth title in the competition.

Sarri: Morata is good but Hazard is better

The Spaniard has not been part of the last four Blues squads in the Premier League and has now been firmly replaced. Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri looks set to persist with Eden Hazard in a false nine role as the uncertainty over the future of Alvaro Morata grows. The Spaniard has not been included in his team's squad for their last four Premier League games, with that streak set to continue against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Hazard has been deployed as a centre-forward in the absence of a more reliable option, and has scored three times in those four appearances. Sarri has been so encouraged by the Belgian's displays that he feels he is starting to mirror Morata's best attributes - casting doubt over the Spaniard's long-term prospects. The Italian said: “We need to be balanced on the pitch and be more solid. "In the last matches I prefer this solution (Hazard at forward). For the future everything is open. “I think that Alvaro is better in the box and b...

Guardiola: Man City are better now than last season

Despite having fallen behind in the title race to Liverpool, the Catalan still believes his side are showing improvements on the pitch. Manchester City may have won the Premier League title with 100 points last season, but Pep Guardiola believes they are even better this time around. The Catalan's second campaign at the Etihad Stadium also delivered the Carabao Cup as City finished a record 19 points clear of nearest challengers and neighbours Manchester United. City lost just two league matches in 2017-18 - to Liverpool and United - but defeats to Chelsea and Crystal Palace this month mean they have already equalled that tally before the halfway stage of the season. Nevertheless, Guardiola feels his side look stronger as they aim to achieve what no City team has done and win back-to-back Premier League crowns. "In little details we are better than last season, which is normal because we have more time together," he told  Sky Sports . "Our process, our bui...

Mourinho rejects offer to return to his former club

Former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has reportedly rejected an approach to take charge at Benfica. It was gathered that the Portuguese coach was linked with a return to Lisbon giants who are searching for a new manager after Thursday’s dismissal of its first team coach Rui Vitoria. Just like Mourinho, Benfica fired Rui Vitoria after a series of poor results for the team – he led to back-to-back Portuguese titles in 2016 and 2017. Before his successful spell with FC Porto, Mourinho had briefly managed Benfica in 2000 where was assistant to Jupp Heynckes before the German was sacked after the fourth week of the domestic season with the side languishing in seventh place. The former Manchester United gaffer was in charge for 9 league games but quickly left the club after a contract dispute with the recently elected president Manuel Vilarinho. However, The Times reports that the Lisbon club is hoping to tempt their former coach back to Estadio da Luz by offering him an i...

It’s been an honor and a dream to pull on the black-and-yellow in front of the Sudtribune! “Many, many ...

Carrick clashes with Pogba over Mourinho's sack

Michael Carrick reportedly clashed with Paul Pogba on the training ground, following Jose Mourinho’s sack at Manchester United. Mourinho was fired on Tuesday, just 11 months after signing a new deal at Old Trafford. Pogba, who had been dropped by Mourinho for his last match against Liverpool, was slammed after a post emerged on his social media account shortly after the Portuguese’s dismissal. It is understood that the Frenchman was also high-fiving his teammates when news of Mourinho’s sack broke. Now fresh reports have suggested Pogba was mocking Mourinho during the session on Tuesday, before being reprimanded by Carrick, who took charge immediately after the decision to pull the trigger. The UK Sun claims Pogba shouted “He f***** with the wrong baller” during the session at Carrington. But Carrick, who will remain part of the coaching team under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, confronted him immediately. It is alleged he told the World Cup winner that United are bigger...
