More woes for Solskjaer as Man Utd were humiliated by Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said in February that life as a Manchester United player has to be survival of the fittest. “You have seen what I have chosen, I have chosen that we need to play as a Man Utd team and if you want to be a part of Man Utd, it’s survival of the fittest isn’t it?” But their humiliating 4-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday only served to underline just how far off the pace this current United squad really is and all-but ensured there will be no surviving the race to reach the top four. On energy and enthusiasm they were fifth or sixth in a two-horse race. In a season which has thrown up plenty of opportunities to question just how bad things can get, this was the worst of the lot.
