No United player posted anything on social media relating to the sacking on Tuesday, when the squad all headed to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to hand out Christmas presents to local children.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was confirmed as United’s new interim manager on Wednesday, signing a deal until the end of the season.
